Bandicoot berry

Bandicoot berry (Leea indica)
I had intended to go for a wander around the Smithfield Conservation park today, but the mountain bike championships had closed the area and I wandered down to Cattana Wetlands instead. It was very quiet on the bird front. I did spot a couple of intermediate egrets, but they took off before I could get very close. It's unusual not to see any cormorants or darters.

As I wandered around I noticed a lot of bandicoot berry in fruit. They will turn a dark purplish brown as they ripen. It's a plant I remember well from my time volunteering with Conservation Volunteers Australia. It's early stages of re-vegetating an area, and I planted quite a few.
