More Cattana

I had another wander around Cattana Wetlands today - it's becoming a regular spot when on a Sunday afternoon I make a late decision to have a wandering and bird spotting session. A few of the sightings were:

  1. Pacific black duck (Anas superciliosa)
  2. Grey teal (Anas gracilis)
  3. Green pygmy-goose (Nettapus pulchellus)
  4. Little egret (Egretta garzetta)
  5. Intermediate egret (Ardea intermedia)
  6. White-necked heron (Ardea pacifica)
  7. Straw-necked ibis (Threskiomis spinicollis)
  8. Little pied cormorant (Phalocrocorax melanoleucos)
  9. Little black cormorant (Phalacrocorax sulcirostris)
  10. Australasian darter (Anhinga melanogaster)
  11. Willie wagtail (Rhipidura leucophrys)
  12. Sacred kingfisher (Todiramphus sanctus)
  13. Olive-backed sunbird (Nectarina jugularis)
  14. Comb-crested jacana (Metopidius gallinacea)
  15. Australasian grebe (Tachybaptus novaehollandiae)
  16. Spangled drongo (Dicrurus bracteatus)
  17. Welcome swallow (Hirundo neoxena)
  18. White-breasted woodswallow (Artamus leucorynchus)
  19. Magpie-lark (Grallina cyanoleuca)
  20. Chestnut-breasted mannikin (Lonchura castaneothorax)
  21. Masked lapwing (Vanellus miles)
  22. Orange-footed scrubfowl (Megapodius reinwardt)
  23. Yellow honeyeater (Lichenostomus flavus)
  24. Brown honeyeater (Lichmera indistincta)
  25. Chicken (Gallus gallus) - Yes, chickens - black stars I believe. A fairly friendly pair near the gates.
