Firespike and sunbird

A female yellow bellied sunbird (Nectarina jugularis) on a firespike (Odontonema tubaeforme)
While I have a general rule that I only buy plants that are native to the area for my garden, one exception I made was labelled at the nursery as Justicea coccinea, though it seems the correct name is Odontonema tubaeforme. The common name is firespike, and it comes from Central America. The nursery had a sign saying that the plant was good for attracting the yellow bellied sunbird, and it has lived up to that promise.
