Like minds

Christopher Monckton and Dany Nalliah
I had forgotten about Christopher Monckton's trip to Australia, including speaking at the launch of the right wing, nationalist, god-botherer's Rise Up Australia Party. The launch was the day before yesterday.

Long time Monckton booster and fellow climate change denier Andrew Bolt was driven by Monckton's appearance to ask:
Why on earth was Christopher Monckton endorsing the nationalist Rise Up Australia Party? Great chance for warmists to paint climate sceptics as fringe dwellers.
One may alternatively be tempted to ask why Rise Up Australia was endorsing the Potty Peer. Monckton, already on the fringe with nutty claims about miracle cures and climate change, has recently veered hard right with claims that Obama was born in Kenya and faked his birth certificate, and that the US Republican Party deliberately threw the last election in some grand plan to end liberalism. Monckton's rapsheet is long and laughable.

The Rise Up Australia party was founded by Danny Nalliah, an evangelical Christian pastor who was a Family First Party candidate until he proved too much of a loony even for them. You may remember him as the fellow who blamed the 2009 Victorian bushfires on abortion laws and the 2011 Queensland floods on Kevin Rudd not being pro-Israel enough. Nalliah has also claimed to cure disease and even raise the dead through prayer.

It's hard to decide which is nuttier, Monckton or Nalliah. Fortunately it's not an important question. They're both nuttier than squirrel shit.
