The geneticist's best friend?

The above photo shows a tiny fly sitting on an average sized lime, which should give you an idea exactly how small the fly is. It's certainly a Drosophilid, but the species is hard to tell. It would be nice if it was D. melanogaster, which is used as a model organism by geneticists the world over in experiments but there are a lot of very similar species.
